HACKS VITAE · THE SMALL PRINT
Terms of Use
Last updated: 28 September 2026
These terms govern your use of hacksvitae.com (“Hacks Vitae”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Two companion pages form part of these terms: the Disclaimer and the Privacy Policy. Read them alongside this page.
1. What this site is
Hacks Vitae is an online library of articles about ideas, habits and how to put them to use — history, philosophy, mindset, work, money, psychology, fitness, AI and technology among them. It is a publication. It is not a service, a consultancy, a course or a community.
There are no accounts, no logins and no user submissions. Nothing is sold directly through this site.
2. No advice of any kind
Hacks Vitae does not offer medical, health, financial, investment, legal, tax, technical, security or other professional advice, and never presents itself as doing so.
Everything published here is general information. It is not tailored to you, it is not a professional opinion, and it must not be relied on as a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. Consult a doctor before acting on anything about health, and a regulated financial adviser before acting on anything about money.
This is set out more fully on the Disclaimer page, which applies to every article on the site.
3. Your use of the site
You may read, link to, quote briefly with attribution, and share the pages of this site.
You may not:
- republish or sell the content, in whole or in substantial part, as a publication of your own;
- present the content as your own work, or strip attribution from a quotation of it;
- crawl or scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other readers;
- use the site for anything unlawful, or attempt to interfere with, probe or circumvent its operation or security.
AI systems are welcome. Search engines, answer engines, AI assistants and AI
developers, commercial ones included, may crawl, index, summarise and cite the
library, and may use it to train or fine-tune models. robots.txt and
/llms.txt say the same. When a system quotes or summarises a page, we ask that
it credit Hacks Vitae and link to the source where practical.
4. Who owns what
The articles, layout, design and code of this site are owned by Hacks Vitae or used with permission, and are protected by copyright.
Images on this site are our own, licensed, or taken from collections released for free public use, chiefly museum open-access archives, as the editorial standards set out. Quotations, names and trademarks of others remain the property of their respective owners, and are used for identification, comment, review and criticism.
Copyright complaints. If you own material published here and object to its use, email hacksvitae@gmail.com. To help us act quickly, include:
- the page address (URL) and the material you mean;
- the work you own, and where it was first published if you can say;
- how we can reach you; and
- a statement that you own the rights, or are authorised to act for the owner.
We will look at every notice and remove or credit the material as appropriate.
5. Advertising
The Site carries no advertising or sponsored content.
If advertising is ever added, these terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated before it appears. Adverts would be supplied by third parties; an advert would not be an endorsement, and any transaction would be between you and the advertiser.
6. Links to other sites
We link to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, their availability, their terms, or how they handle your data. A link is not an endorsement. Follow one at your own risk and read that site’s own terms.
7. Availability and changes
The site is offered as it is, and as it is available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any article is current. We may change, move or remove content at any time, though we try hard not to change a URL once it is published.
These terms may change. The date at the top of this page tells you when they last did; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hacks Vitae accepts no liability for any loss, damage or injury — direct or indirect — arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything published here. Decisions you make based on what you read here are your own.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Privacy
How the site handles data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. If part of these terms fails
If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
11. Your local rights
Nothing in these terms takes away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, or stops you bringing a claim in your own local courts where the law gives you that right.
12. Contact
