If you are struggling or thinking about suicide, please reach out now. findahelpline.com lists free, confidential helplines worldwide. In the US and Canada, call or text 988. In the UK and Ireland, call Samaritans on 116 123. In Australia, call Lifeline on 13 11 14. In India, call Tele-MANAS on 14416. In the Philippines, call the National Center for Mental Health crisis line on 1800-1888-1553 (or 1553 from a Luzon landline). If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
A list is not treatment, and this page knows it. If you are in real difficulty, the numbers above are worth more than anything below. Find A Helpline describes contacting a helpline as “free, anonymous and confidential”, and says you might just need to talk: you do not have to be at a breaking point to use one.
What a list like this is good for is narrower and still real: when everything has flattened out, it can be hard to call to mind that anything is worth staying for. These are prompts, not an argument. Take the ones that land. Leave the rest — some of them will not be yours, and that is expected.
100 Reasons to Stay Alive
Some of these are big moments and most of them are small ones, on purpose: small things are often the ones within reach on a bad day. Most of the reasons follow a list that has been shared widely online; we could not find who first wrote it. The notes under each one are ours.

100. Remember: You Are a Beautiful Person: Not because of anything on this list, but because there is only one of you.
Embrace the Beauty of Life
None of these reasons has to be true for you today. Some of them may become true later, and some you will replace with your own, which is how a list like this is meant to be used. If you want to keep one, write it down somewhere you will see it.
You are not alone, and reaching out is not a last resort.
Life is beautiful, and you are a beautiful part of it.
